Yes scripts can be used to access Rose's REI model. Have a look at Rose's
scripts which are available at Rationals tech support wage also.
The activity diagrams can be accessed using the state machines. Have a look
at a script which accesses activity diagrams for printing to word. The
writer of the script is the best person to talk about Rose scripting.

Subject: RE: (ROSE) Exporting activity diagram

Hi Mirza,

Let me explain the requirement in a more clear way.

A System architect draws(models) a business workflow as an activity
diagram .For example

Activity 1 Activity2 Activity3
Orderprocessing ------------------->Sales
Division-------------------------> Shipping
(it can also include fork and joins)

In our WorkFLow engine(the new project) we need to get informations
like Activity name,Activity description etc from the above modelled
activity diagram. From which we are defining the activities(process)
.This part we are designed in Java .

My doubt is how can I access the above mentioned information from
rational rose ?I heard that with VBScript we can get access to
rational APIs.We accessed class diagram but we failed to get access to
Activity diagram

Once we collect these informations(some how) from rose we can create
an XML or a Java Object and can pass it as an input to our Workflow
Engine.

regards
Rajesh

I think its not clear from your context what you actually want to do.
Do you
want to design the business process using activity diagrams and then
convert
the design into java code OR do you want to built activity diagrams
for the
process and then use the activity diagrams into java environment which
can
manipulate the diagram elements (as some tools do) ?

Subject: (ROSE) Exporting activity diagram

Hello experts,

I am new to this mailing list.I have a requirement for one of our
projects. It is a business automator projact in which our idea is to
draw an activity diagram indicating the flow of work using rational
rose .Then export this activity diagram to an XML object or a Java
object or any other form that is accessible from a java world.

I am not sure ,how this can be accomplished. Please help me in this
matter.
