Rose shows the stacked instances in collaboration diagrams, but not in
sequence diagrams.

You need to either name your instances to indicate a collection, or use a
note.
Sequence Diagram are not used to generate code anyway, so the aim is
clarity, in this case. Good naming or well placed notes may achieve this.

(Note: Stacked instances are useful to show broadcasts and so on, but they
blur the aim of the diagram if you try to get too clever with them.)
