That is an interesting way of browsing your code.
As a code visualization tool I think that would be very good.
What value does it add to a design tool. If you already have
code then why do you want or need a sequence diagram. Sequence
diagrams are useful if you have a model and you can create a
Use Case from which you make one or more realizations. Each
use case realization may have one or more sequence diagrams to
show how you want to implement the use case.
If you already have code then this would a after the fact
exercise. By Ivar Jacobson's and the UML definition a sequence
diagram shows one way to implement a use case realization.
Sequence diagrams are considered to be part of design.
Rational does have several test tools that you may want to
use if you have code. We will give you the call tree and how
much time is spent in each subroutine, number of times it is called
and so on.
