Regarding .NET support:

Visual Studio .NET is not supported in Rose2001.
Microsoft has to get out a final release of .NET before we will
offically support it. As been pointed out a beta version of
Visual Modeler (the scaled-down version of Rose shipped with
Visual Studio) for .NET is included with the VS.NET Beta 1 that was released
last November; it should provide a good preview of some of the functionality
that Rose will provide for .NET.

Regarding Visio:

Don't know about using Visio and .NET but in regards to Visio
to Rose or other modeling tools:

If Visio has a XMI export option then you may be able to pull it
into Rose using Roses XMI Add-in.

Or you may be able to get it out of Visio using Repository
then use the following 3'rd party addin to pull this information
from Repository to Rose. (last time I looked they did not mention Visio, but
they did mention MS Repository and Rose).

 http://www.metaintegration.net/Products/MIMB/

The Meta Integrationä Model Bridge (MIMB) product provides MITI's
metadata movement solution. MIMB is a graphical Windows 95/98/NT
standalone utility that converts data or object models from one
design tool format under a particular methodology to another.

God questions,
I have tried both, but to no avail.
Visio - We are supposed to be able to use MS's Repository to export into and
the import from. For example, I exported a Visio "static" view into the
repository and then tried to import from the repository into Rose. I could
not get Rose to connect to the Repository -- ANY IDEAS?
*Note Visio only stores the logical data into the repository, not the
diagram, so we would need to re draw the diagram!

The Visual Modeler in .NET has gone through a serious upgrade. We can do use
cases and a lot more. It created, for me, an .MDX. that could not be opened
in Rose.
*QUESTION -- Will we be able to associate a VM model to a ReqPro project?

Rational has gone to some lengths to hook into .NET's framework. Once in the
.NET's IDE we are supposed to be able to run Rose - ReqPro the suites - in a
seamless environment.

Thanks for your anwser.
You can do a lot with Visio 2001 (entreprise), including UML diagrams. I
just wanted to know if you could use it as a modelling tool and then, import
diagrams in a developping tool as Visual Studio.NET.

If anyone has more information, or any sample to download ...
thanks!
