Back in the Rose 98i days I did strugle with this problem. I did spend an awfull lot of time trying to convince Rational that the Rose-VSS connection had some serious bugs. "Some things" were corrected, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Rose-VSS connection still has a few bugs.
If you have the time, the guts, and the spirit ... you should try to send a bug report to Rational on this problem.

mmm, it seems that Rose 2001.03.00 doesn't automaticly do a 'get latest'
when checking out a model (or part of it). This is bad, beause you basicly
check out a file which is older than the file currentlty held in
source-safe. And when you check it back in, the current file in source-safe
gets overwritten by a file based on an OLDER version. yuk!
You could prevent this by doing a 'get latest' from the version-control
addin-menu.
Does anyone know if this behaviour is intended or is it a bug? And can i
make Rose do a 'get latest' whenever i open the model (or better: when i
'check out' a model) ?
