Subject: RE: (ROSE) Rose VSS bugI'm using Rose 2000e (7.0.9420.17) with VSS (6.0 build 8383) Version Control (2.1) but normally I don't have this bug.But I did manage to reproduce it by checking "don't get local copy" on Advanced Check-out Options dialog box (click Advanced button on Check-out from MS VSS dialog box). My options are:Replace writable: AskSet time: Check InDon't get local copy: offAllow multiple checkouts: off, grayed (we don't allow it in our VSS)This is VSS dialog box, so maybe you've set it to some other values (most probably checked the "don't get" option)...Regards

Subject: RE: (ROSE) Rose VSS bugHi Again
This was our experience too. What we managed to though was to convince Rational (US) that there was a serious bug. I spend days making precise descriptions on how to reproduce the bug/failure. It's my experience that if you wan'na be heard you have to go straigth to Rational US, you have to be pretty aggresive, and you have to be prepared to take a lot of "hot air" promisses. Be prepared to get advices that "if you just buy ClearCase...." a.s.o.
At the time I was strugling with Rational I worked for a "small" company with 45000+ employees. This was too smal a company to get some real action in bug-fixing. So be prepared :-)
But to be constructive, try to make a precise description of the bug, and send it to Rational. Be persistent in demanding the bug to be fixed.

Hi Vincent,
we experienced the same problem (definitely a bug) with Rose 2000e, but
Rational Denmark was not able to reproduce it. We decided to remove the
versioning add-in from Rose and to perform the get latest and check out
operations manually in VSS. We still have to be carefull, though. As a side
effect, Rose is significantly faster in loading models without the add-in.We have not checked the cooperation with Rose 2001.

mmm, it seems that Rose 2001.03.00 doesn't automaticly do a 'get latest'
when checking out a model (or part of it). This is bad, beause you basicly
check out a file which is older than the file currentlty held in
source-safe. And when you check it back in, the current file in source-safe
gets overwritten by a file based on an OLDER version. yuk!
You could prevent this by doing a 'get latest' from the version-control
addin-menu.Does anyone know if this behaviour is intended or is it a bug? And can i
make Rose do a 'get latest' whenever i open the model (or better: when i
'check out' a model) ?thanks for your thoughts,
