We also use RDF, an Oracle DB, on VAX.
The current version of Data Modeler (2001e) doesn't support it.
Is there any chance that the next version will support it?
Or is there a way to manage it with the current version?
I explain my problem :
RDF can get field definitions from a common repository, called CDD, that has
a "custom" way to define fields. For istance a field of SQL type char(1) is
defined in CDD as "text size is 10 characters".
My idea was to define a "custom" dbms, and to assign to this dbms the domain
packages, in order to let the global fields defined with these definitions.
I've tried. I enclose the Rose script I used to change the DB type of DP_0 (
a domain package I created) into RDF.
The script works, the DBMS type of the model is RDF ( see the .mdl file with
an editor). However, in Rose, the DBMS type is still SQL92. This implies
that the domains created into DP_0 only can have the SQL92 data types.
Any possibility that this works ? Any other suggestion ?
