Title: Question about upgrading from 2000 to 2001

Steven,

Rational always recommends uninstalling a previous version. I did this AND returned the license, actually the other way around. Then installed Rose 2001 J and requested the license back via the new web system Accountlink. This was on Win2000 and have had no problems. Don’t forget the 2001 patch that is on Rational’s site also. Technically, I believe that the license file remains after the 2000 uninstall, but I like things as clean as possible.

Subject: (ROSE) Question about upgrading from 2000 to 2001

Greetings all.  I have a question about upgrading from 2000 to 2001:

I am running Rose 2000 Professional Java Edition on Windows 2000 with a permanent node-locked license.  Do I need to release the license before upgrading and then reacquire it, or can I leave the license in place for the upgrade?

Thanks.
