No straight forward way of doing this in Rose 98.

2 (problematic) workarounds:

1) edit message directly and sequence diagram and type in anything you want.
Downside to this:  Check model will report bogus error since it can't find
this reference.

2) leave argument type blank, only give operation a name. Now only name will
show. Downside to this:  code generated will not contain type.

Starting with Rose 2000, you can show this without above problems:

There is a new group box, "Message Signatures" for this on the
Diagram" tab of the Tools:Options... menu that controls the display.
