I'm not sure I got it all. I've been using controlled units to sync workgroup models for a while and it's working fine. The only think we had to impose is that the Rose Path defined in it has to be the same for all people involved. The controlled units have with them this reference.
I hope it helps.

Subject: RE: (ROSE) Where should associations be stored

i did a quick test on this subject, but it seems that class-associations are stored in the class itself
and associations in the diagram are stored in the package where the diagram resides. The associations
in the diagram are a little bit different, they contain attributes for the corresponding diagram (name/ sterotype).
This is why there are 2 different kind of associations in your models (my opinion).

If you delete either one of the associations will also delete the other one (automaticaly)

i know this is not a direct answer to your problem but maybe a little *insight* for you

greets,
vincent

Subject: (ROSE) Where should associations be stored

Hi all,

We are running a big project and currently we want to merge all effort made by the different workers. Here we encounter some serious problems. At the moment we try to import cat files from other members Rose crashes on a regular basis. All we know until now that it has to do with the associations. Associations (between classes) may be stored at two positions:

  • In the package where the class is,
  • In the package where the use case realization is (typically associations are created at the moment the "View of participating classes" diagram is created for a use case realization)
What is the proper place?
