Hi, We have an object model (OM) and we will continuously through the development process new versions databases produce that reflect developments in the OM. We want to use the Data Modeller to do this but fail to see how to do this in a useful way. The first schema was generated quite correctly and we have a working database with data for the first iteration. However now we wish to produce another version of the database with new columns for new attributes in the OM. One would think that the way to do this should be through the Compare And Sync of the DM schema. We came across 2 major problems: Firstly Compare and Sync is started from the menu of a schema but it then seems to take the tables from all schemas, not just the schema of the menu. Secondly the Compare and Sync seems to only recognise new classes, not new attributes of existing classes: Thus there is no possibility of generating ALTER TABLE statements through Compare and Sync. Have we just not used the tool correctly is is this indeed the case??
