Yes, it is the focus of control boxes. But I want to leave them because they
also bring something for the understanding of the diagram.

Are you referring to the 'focus of control' boxes for each message? If so,
these can easily be removed from your sequence diagrams altogether by
modifying the diagram options. You are right though, they revert to their
original size if moved!

The new possibility to put return messages in sequence diagram in the last
version of Rose is really great and make these diagrams much more
understandable. BUT, there is one thing that is a bit annoying is that when
you put a message, Rose puts an activation box under it for all the types of
messages, including the return messages. Of course, you can then reduce the
box, but when you move the message, the box grows back.
Of course, I don't think there is a solution right now, but it would be a
nice for future releases.
