Title: AW: (ROSE) Automated Rose functionality from Java on Linux ?

Youm should look at <rose2001a>\Rose\java2rei\java2rei.jar . For me it seems to be the COM-Wrapper.
But remember: Rose has to run on a windows system. If your JavaApp resides on a linux, dont forget to write a proxy and connect it via IP.

Good luck.

Betreff:        (ROSE) Automated Rose functionality from Java on Linux ?

Any help with these issues will be much appreciated.

I would like to use Rose in an automated mode out of a Java based system
    running in Linux.

The intended behavior is very simple: I want my Java application to
instantiate Rose, give it the CLASSPATH of some other Java system that
will serve as a test subject, then I want my Java application to tell Rose
to do "reverse engineering" of the Java system specified in CLASSPATH,
obtain the ClassDiagram (a set of classes with generalization, aggregation
and association relationships on them) described in some Java framework
and manipulate the components and relationships of the obtained
ClassDiagram that represents a view of the reverse engineered test system.

Ideally I would like to know if there are any Java wrappers around Rose
REI. If there are, where can I find them together woth javadoc-generated
    API ?

I already looked at some docs on REI available at www.rational.com - they
seem to focus only on Windows-based version (only mentions OLE) and give
very simple examples based on Visual Basic.

Are there any docs that have more complicated examples of REI use ?
Preferably with Linux-based communication mechanisms (instead of OLE) and
out of Java or C/C++ based apps ?

I'll appreciate any pointers ot URLs with docs such Java wrappers, API
descriptions or any other kind of docs on the above mentioned topics.

    Thank you very much,
    Rodion
