Hi Rusty,

Business rules can be described in a variety of ways using UML. If you are 
describing a business workflow using activity diagrams, rules may be 
depicted as guard conditions between activities. In a class diagram they may 
be depicted formally as OCL constraints. Multiplicity constraints on 
associations may also describe business rules. If you haven't read Business 
Modeling with UML I would recommend you get it.

They use a stereotyped note that is attached to any relevent model element 
to express rules in plain English.
