Hello,

By some unknown reason WAE stereotypes of the Web Modeler
are not shown on sequence diagrams but the ones that added
by the user are shown without problems.

I'm using the stereotypes, provided by Jim Conallen -
the author of the book "Building Web Applicatios With UML".

They are shown as icons on the sequence diagrams.

To install them you need to open the file "defaultstereotypes.ini"
 in the rose install directory
with notpad and insert the content of "StereotypedItems.txt"
to the [Stereotyped Items] section of this file
and the contents of waestereotypes.txt to the end
of "defaultstereotypes.ini" file and save it.

Now you must copy folder "webextension" to the rose install
directory (where "defaultstereotypes.ini" is) and that's all.

Now after running rose you have wae extensions added to your
 stereotypes.

Additional information on adding stereotypes you can find in rose help.

 With regards,

                Enn

If after doing this you still do not see the stereotype icon in the sequence
diagram then try the attached script, i.e. run the script and set the
stereotype diaplay mode for interaction diagrams to be 'Icon' when prompted.

I am not sure about getting a stereotype icon into a sequence diagram.
However, to get access to the WAE stereotypes when creating a new class in
the logical view follow these steps:
  1. Create a component in "Component View"
  2. Open specification and select Language:Web Modeler
  3. Create a class in the "Logical View"
  4. Assign the new "Logical View" class to the component created in step 1
via the specification->component tab.
  5. Once step 4 is applied, the WAE stereotypes will become available for
the class.
  6. Now you can assign the class created in step 3 to a class in your
sequence diagram. However, this does not display the stereotype icon in the
diagram.
I would also be interested in hearing any method of applying a stereotype
directly to a class in a sequence diagram. However, to my knowledge classes
created in a sequence diagram only obtain further attributes by assigning a
standard rose class to it.

Hi,
I am using Rose2000e and downloaded WAE1.0 add-in. How can I find "Client
Page" or any other WAE specific icon into the sequence diagram?
Thanks,
