Anine,

as this association does not affect code generation you're quite
free to choose which one.

>From a process point of view, the realize relationship is the correct one
to depict that the use-case realization realizes the use-case (well,
even prosa can sometimes be clear:-).

>From my personal point of view this means, that the RUP template mdl
contains a bug. As there are not so many realize relationships
are in that model, I updated it to the 'correct' realize relationship.
Please replace the file "rational unified process.mdl" in
<RoseInstDir>\framework\frameworks\rational unfied process
with the attached mdl. So, every new mdl based on this framework
will have the correct realize relationship.

If you already started modeling and there are many uc-realizations
already created, it's also a maintenance question (how long will
it take you to update the model). Then, you might add a statement
'we use UML associations stereotyped <<realize>> to model uc-realizations'
to you UML modeling guidelines (RUP artifact) or, if you don't use
them to your development case (RUP artifact, that you _should_ have:-)

Best regards,
Volker

Betreff: (ROSE) How to draw use-case realization

In RUP online documentation the example shows that a use-case realization
relation is draw by an arrow, association that in Rose are called "realize".
But when you start Rose, and choose New model based on the template for RUP,
which include an example of drawing this association, the "unidirectional
association" with the stereotype "realize" is used.

See included Rose-file for more information.

My question is which one is correct to use?

Thank you!
