Make a copy of your upd-file on an external drive. If you change your computer (or reinstall rose after formatting your c:-drive) you have to contact Rational for giving you a new key. Tell it them ans send them the upd-file.
This is the way we had done this in our project for the last ?? years.

Betreff: (ROSE) Not clear about the license model
Hi,
We have purchased a 3 user license Rational Rose Professional J Edition. I
have installed one copy on my PC with the license state as 'Permanent'. What
happens if my PC crashes and I have had to get a new PC. Will I only be left
with two more licenses? Could u please explain how it works. I do not want
to make any illegal installations. Thanks in advance.
