In order to keep merging easy do you have some practical hints how to keep
the references between controlled units as few as possible?
Also interested about how to model reusable subsystems and how to include
those assets in other models...

Brenda
You can break the model into "Controlled Units" (multiple files that
contain a subset of the model). This helps make large models more
manageable. Then there are two approaches to team development.

1. Allow single user access to each controlled unit. This works something
like a coding project under source control. Keep all of the controlled unit
files on a share drive. When one developer opens (similar to: check out) a
controlled unit to work on all subsequent developers opening the same
controlled unit will get a read only copy.

2. Allow multiple user to have there own local copy of the controlled unit
files. Then a model administrator must be responsible for merging the
multiple copies of each controlled unit file back into a master model.

The first approach is simpler from a model administration stand point but
may be more frustrating for a large development team when multiple users
need to work with the same files. The second approach is easier for the
developers but will create a considerable amount of work for a model
administrator.

You can find information on this my searching the Rose help for "Team
Development"

Can you have multiple users in a rose model at one time ? If so how do
you do this ?
