hiho,

I had been waiting to let others reply since my information is pretty dated.
But since no one has jumped on I can tell you how it went for me when I was
supporting a customer a few years ago.

The biggest issue I remember was the idea that it could do a one-shot load,
but it did not do a good job of synching when the Rose model changed. I was
also unimpressed with the amount of information moved over from Rose to the
DOORS repository.

So I'd suggest really banging on how it reacts to reasonable circumstances
like "What if I add a new use case in Rose?" and "Where will I be allowed to
change use-case descriptions? And will it resynch across the model and the
requirements repository?". Then double-check how much information is moved
across.

Let me stick my nose in a little deeper with an unsolicited comment.
Consider the usage of requirements documentation within your organization
and how the team members would react to changing over from a
documentation-centric approach to a requirements repository-centric
approach. Again my information is a little dated, but I worked with an
organization that had huge social issues with loading nice, usable,
convenient Word documents into a repository and making all future updates
through DOORS. They just never wanted to give up their documents. We also
looked at DOORS requireIT, but never found a good solution that retained an
MS-Word document while providing all the desired requirements management
capabilities. Other requirements management tools do a better job of
keeping the documentation view alive while providing a repository view of
the requirements, their attributes, and traceability. ... but that's not
what you asked...

Subject: (ROSE) DOORS Rose Link

Hello,

I would like to hear from ANYONE that has experience, positive or negative,
using DOORS Rose Link from Telelogic. We have a project that is definitely
using DOORS for requirements management and Rose for design capture.
Please let me know if you have experience with DOORS Rose Link, and if so,
does it do everything Telelogic says it will, how easy is it to use, are
there new versions being released, etc.

Thanks,

Greg Young
