We had similar problems with Data Modeler but then we were reverse
engineering a large Oracle database into Rose. The size of the database was
big and the mdl file became ~ 10MB. It always took a lot of time to load.
And sometimes we could not open the specification of certain tables. We
thought it could be because of the database/mdl file size (and our
workstation RAM 126 MB). But found that because we were manipulating
different fields of the tables the database in Rose got corrupted.
Reloading a clean database (from rev engg) solved the problem. You may have
the same problem - corruption...
