Yes, "Credit Authorization Service" should be modeled as an actor since it is outside your system and interacts with it. An actor is "Someone or something, outside the system that interacts with the system"

As per understanding every entity participating in an interaction with a system in a use case should be modeled as Actor. Looking at an example given in the book "Applying UML...." by C. Larman, two actors "Customer" and "cashier" are shown in a use case "Buy Item". But as course of events shown below the "Credit Authorization Service" is also involved in the process. How to model it? as an actor? (as it is shown in the actor action column. Actor Action System Response 3. Credit Authorization Service authorizes 4. Receives a credit approval the payment. Reply from the Credit Autho rization Service(CAS). Can anybody clarify. Thanks in advance. ------------------------------ Arshad Ali Shahid Professor of Computer Science FAST National University Islamabad ------------------------------ ************************************************************************ * Rose Forum is a public venue for ideas and discussions. * For technical support, visit http://www.rational.com/support * * Admin.Subscription Requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Archive of messages: http://www.rational.com/support/usergroups/rose/rose_forum.jsp * Other Requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To unsubscribe from the list, please send email * * To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Subject:<BLANK> * Body: unsubscribe rose_forum * ************************************************************************* ************************************************************************ * Rose Forum is a public venue for ideas and discussions. * For technical support, visit http://www.rational.com/support * * Admin.Subscription Requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Archive of messages: http://www.rational.com/support/usergroups/rose/rose_forum.jsp * Other Requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To unsubscribe from the list, please send email * * To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Subject:<BLANK> * Body: unsubscribe rose_forum * *************************************************************************
