Hai Anil,
Package is a group of Classes. A package may contain other packages, so that developers can construct arbitrarily complex groupings and sub groupings. Subsystem is a package that completly encapsulates its emplementation. This means that a client can only access the publicly available interfaces from that subsystem without knowing the interior workings. The connection?, for me as a developer, I refer to the package terminology whenever I m doing the implementation (developing classes and implementing functions). I only refer to the subsystem terminology during analysis and design. The above definition are taken from Enterprise Java with UML book published by John Wiley & Sons, inc. ISBN : 0-471-38680-4 Please refer to page 219 : Definition of Subsystem Please refer to page 214 : Definition of Packages Regards Hatta Anil Kumar Emmadi wrote: > Hi > Can anybody explain the differences between a subsystem and a package. > > Cheers > Anil > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Name: Wipro_Disclaimer.txt > Wipro_Disclaimer.txt Type: Plain Text (text/plain) > Encoding: 7bit ************************************************************************ * Rose Forum is a public venue for ideas and discussions. * For technical support, visit http://www.rational.com/support * * Admin.Subscription Requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Archive of messages: http://www.rational.com/support/usergroups/rose/rose_forum.jsp * Other Requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * * To unsubscribe from the list, please send email * * To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Subject:<BLANK> * Body: unsubscribe rose_forum * *************************************************************************
