I'm beginning to see the light. The second option below is exactly the route I'm persuing, except I'm stuck at point 6:
Seeing that I'm working with Rational Modeler 98, I don't have the Import functionality of 2000e. I'm trying to use the Load method, but always get an Automation error from the REI. (Using a VB environment). Is it possible to load a unit into a model, if that unit does not already exist in the model (essentially an Import function)? I am assuming the following: A controllable unit can't be loaded unless it is 'controlled'. And it can't be 'controlled' unless it is instantiated. And it can't be instantiated unless it exisits in the model. If somebody can find a hole in the above statements, I'd be very grateful. Many thanks for all suggestions so far!
