I'm trying to start data modeling with Rose Data Modeler. However, I find out the granularity of version control provided by Rose/Clearcase is not enough for my project. What I want is a class/attribute or table/column level control, where you can mark each table/column with a specific feature requirement within one release of a model so that a complete schema or a schema including a subset of the feature requirements can both be generated. The reason I want this is because the project schedule constantly changes, and I don't intend to add and remove the same stuff over and over again.
So far, I can not figure out how to do this with data modeler. The only thing I can do to achieve this is to define my own DDL properties instead of using data modeler, and write my own schema generator based on these properties. But I really don't want to get on this path. Just wondering if anybody can give me some direction on how to solve this problem. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
