Hi Jean-Franois,
Could you tell me the exact version of Rose that you are using ? If you are using Rose 2001 (7.1..) or Rose 2001a (7.5.0103.1920) there should be a bug created for the behavior you described : "rose00019219 - Model saved with absolute path instead of &CURDIR". This defect has been resolved in the Rose 2001A Patch 2 that can be found on the rational web site at : http://www.rational.com/support/downloadcenter/upgrades/rose.jsp Patch 2 2001A Windows 07-SEP-01 Hope this helps. I got no problems. As I understand you, if you put the link to external doc in the package spec of the Cat package or any package under it, the external doc path should be external_doc_path "$curdir\\categ1\\categ1.doc" and not external_doc_path "$curdir\\categ1.doc" Unless if you put the link first at model level and then moved the document physically!! Hope it helps. For example, my model path is c:\dev\project, my category path is c: \dev\project\categ1 and I have a virtual path named curdir set to &. I want to store my category specifications in the category directory. I link an extenal document named c:\dev\project\categ1\categ1.doc to my category with the package spcification (CTRL B) in files tab. In the categ1.cat file I can see external_doc_path "$curdir\\categ1.doc" When I reopen my model and its subunits, Rose try to find my spcifications at c:\dev\project\categ1.doc that's wrong. If I store my document in model path, I can see in the categ1.cat file external_doc_path "c:\\dev\\project\\categ1.doc" So I can share my model only if all users store their project in c: \dev\project that's wrong too. I have the sames troubles if i try to link external document on all diagrams in my category (with a "new/file" command in contextual menu, after having select the diagram). For information, I have no problem to link external documents on a class or a use case. How can I solve theses problems ? Jean-Franois PS : Sorry for my poor language level, I'm a frenchy boy ;-) ______________________________________________________________________ The information contained in this message may be CONFIDENTIAL and is intended for the addressee only.
