There are several factors at work here. The most significant seems to be that Rose accesses over 8000 .INI and other files during initialization. We are running McAfee Virus Scan here, and have found that with even with scanning disabled the startup time is nearly five minutes, however if you stop the scan engine completely Rose starts up in 10 seconds!! I would love to hear what Rational has to say about this.
