So will Rose generate a check constraint for a user defined data type?

Step 2 gives you the opportunity that you reuse a data type. It is really
not the "right" solution how to model it, but it is a solution you can use
if you do not want a reference class and want to have the same definition of
more attributes.

What does step 2 do for me?

Yue-Hwa,

Tow possibilities:

1. Use a reference class for this and build associations to the reference
class. Do not include the attribute in the class.
2. Define a user defined type and assign the attributes in the table to the
type.

Subject: (ROSE) global attributes?

Hello,

     Happy New Year.
I have been using Rational Rose Data Modeler to create logical ERD.
While I am adding attributes to each class, I found a question -
I have a State class which contains stateCode and stateName
attributes; I also have a CompanyAddress class which contains companyName,
stateCode, and other attributes. How can I indicate the StateCode in both
classes are the same so I do not have to enter duplicate informations (e.g.
Type, Documentation, etc.)
     Thanks.

Yue-Hwa
