A .sub file is just the name given to a unit from the Component View.  The .cat files are any units created in the Logical View.  You don't need a .sub file to make Rose work - but if you do want to break up the Component View, then do a Make Unit on a package inside the component view.

The .sub extension name is for backwards compatability with older Rose models - before UML support was introduced in Rose.  Subsystem is the name of component "packages" in the Booch notation - .cat stood for Categories - the equivalent logical view packages.

Subject: (ROSE) SUB File !

Hi,

In one of my models, I have controlled a unit and have it's ".cat" file. But do not have it's corresponding ".sub" file.

Any suggestions to recreate the ".sub" file, please.

Thanks & Regards,
Manju
