Hello Arno,

        Although this can be modeled in several ways/schemes, attached is a
sample model with two Activity diagrams that depicts my idea of how it can
be modeled. As you will see in the model that I have setup two different
scenarios:
1. Client-Side-Validation of data:
 > three swimlanes - User -> form-inputs validation -> server-processing of
data

2. Server-Side-Validation of data.
 > two swimlanes - User -> server-validation & server-processing of data

Let me know what you think or if you have any further questions/concerns.

Thank you,

Subject: (ROSE) Data checks

Hi all,

We are developing a web-application.
We have defined the usecases of the web-application (requirements)
We have also created Activity diagrams.
The activity diagrams are constructed in the following way:

2 swimlanes, 1 for system, other for actor.
The swimlane for the actor contains all actions a user does (e.g. choosing
to do a certain action by pressing a button).
The swimlane for the system contains all actions the system should perform
(as a result of the user actions).

We also want to include somewhere in the model (don't know if the described
diagram is the place for that) the datachecks that the system performs (e.g.
Date-syntax check).
The problem is that we do not want to describe each check (for each input
field) as a seprate action (overkill), but we do want to define the checks
somewhere.

Did anyone ever think about how this should be modelled? Can I find
guidelines on this anywhere?
Has anyone experienced this kind of modelling?

Greetings,
Arno Leenders
