We find it very valuable to line up the sequence diagrams with the use case specifications. It is accomplished manually; but find the understanding it contributes to the sequence diagrams worth the hasle.
While Rose has no known feature to directly tie Sequence Diagrams to Use Case Specifications, what we did is to create a note on the left side of the sequence diagram. Then copied section 5 of the use case specification and pasted it in the note; how I wish the notes were OLE enabled. We inserted carriage returns in the note to line up messages in the sequence diagram to the use case. ----Original Message Follows---- From: "Ricardo Giacomin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: "Ricardo Giacomin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: (ROSE) Linking usecase specification to sequence diagram Date: Fri, 1 Mar 2002 10:17:17 -0300 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gopi Akula" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, February 15, 2002 8:12 PM Subject: RE: (ROSE) Linking usecase specification to sequence diagram > Hi Dan, > Thanks for the response. > > one sequence diagram can be used to represent one or more use case business > logic, so in that scenario you can have more than one document under the > sequence diagram. In fact, you'd better to use several sequence diagrams to depict realization of each use case, not the opposite (as you suggested). It seems that either your sequence diagrams are too big or use cases are too small...
