Hello,
Please keep in mind that a Rational Suite [package] normally
contains more than one Rational point-product, e.g. Rational Rose, Rational
RequisitePro, etc.; and your question have to be addressed on per-product
basis. Now, since you have posted your question to the Rose_Forum, I am
assuming you are talking about the Rational Rose tool.
Rose comes with a Version Control addin that is SCC API compliant,
and thus supports Microsoft Visual SourceSafe. If you have already installed
MS Visual Sourcesafe, chances are it already registered as a
"SourceCodeControlProvider" on your system. That being said, Rose is already
setup to work with Sourcesafe - you can test this by doing Tools > Version
Control > Version Control Options... and confirm that Sourcesafe is
identified there.
After that, you need to do some pre-configuration of Sourcesafe and
Sourcesafe project(s). The best way to do it is by following Rose's own Help
on "Setting Up Microsoft Visual SourceSafe - Version Control Add-In".
