AFAIK Rose will endure another 5 years until it is going to be replaced completely. Well, you never know what the support will be like...

Subject: XDE Rose roadmap
Does anyone know what the product roadmap for XDE and Rose is? Is XDE going to replace Rose or are they going to continue as separate product lines? Is Rose going to be actively developed or will new features only appear in XDE?
Regards
