You can use the XMI add-in to do this. The XMI add-in can be downloaded from our web site at: http://www.rational.com/support/downloadcenter/addins/rose/index.jsp After you have installed the add-in you will notice that the Tools menu has some new entries including a couple called 'Export Model to UML' and 'Import UML Model'. These are used to do the export/imports. ---------- To save the model to the XML format you need to: - Open the model. - Do a Tools|Export Model to UML. You will now see a dialog box called 'Unisys UML Export Options' that will allow you to specify which XMI format you want to use (1.0 or 1.1), set the granularity, set the warning message display options and to choose to export diagrams and uuids from your Rose model. Make your selections and click OK. - An xml version of the model will be created with a name of your choosing and a location also of your choosing. ---------- ---------- 4. To import an XML model into Rose you need to: - The XMI add-in installation directory contains a file called uml13.dtd and a file called umlx13.dtd (special dtd used to support diagrams). You need to make a copy of this file and paste it into the same directory that the xml model is located in. For instance if your XML model was located in: C:\MyModel\testmodel.xml then the uml.dtd file would also be located in: C:\MyModel\uml13.dtd - Now do a Tools|Import UML Model and navigate over to and select the xml model file that you want to import into Rose. You will see a 'Rose UML Import Options' dialog.
