Dear all,
my Intention is to show how easy it is to use iterativ development using
Case Tools like Rational Rose in Context of an Software Process like RUP
tailored to a own company specific development case.
My Question concerns the Definition of the Word Iteration in Context of
RUP.
In my opinion there is a contradiction between the Definition of Iteration
(concerning the
Part: "executable Code") and the Use of it explaining the Phases and the
Dynamic of RUP.
Is a run through the core workflows in the Inception Phase without
generating an executable
(Test) - Programm an Iteration? According to definition that is wrong!!!
The Rational Unified Process - An Introduction - Second Edition from
Philippe Kruchten
chapter 16 - typical iteration plans - talks about initial Iterations,
meaning run through the
core workflows without generating any executable code.
This contradiction concerning the definition and use of Iteration
designation in detail can also
be found in RUP Online Version.
In which Context is it right to talk about a RUP Iteration???
Finally, it would be appreciated for someone from Rational to comment on
this issue. (specially to Phillippe Kruchten)
Regards
Matthias Herbort
