Do not do a select all on the diagram. Make sure nothing is selected then do Edit > Copy (or Copy Active Diagram, depending on your version of Rose). In Word select Edit > Paste Special. In the dialog box select the desired options and click on OK.

I do this by selecting all and copy (ctrl-c or edit/copy). I then do past into word document. I do this by opening up word and ctrl-v or edit/paste. When I do this an graphic file is pasted to word. However the graphic file is a little distorted. For some reason the partiton of the class gets moved down a little.
