You say XDE support only PC-platform.
Did you know if XDE for Java (Eclipse platform) will be available on Unix
or Linux? (Eclipse platform is available for Unix/Linux,..)

Thanks for your response. Here are the defect number for the missing tools
is RATLC00052834. Regarding my other problem (the VC++ addin that doesn't
work) Rickard at support Europe is doing an exellent job trying to
reproduce
the defect to be able to post a defect.
Regarding Rose and the lifespan of the product, I was told by someone at
Rational (don't remember who) that there was only planned 5 SR's, and that
XDE would be the "next Rose". If this is not the case, how does Rational
see
the two products Rose and XDE in the near future ? Which area of
UML-modeling will be the focus of XDE and which for Rose ? Are you saying
that Rose for instance will be upgraded to support the Microsoft Visual
Studio .NET IDE (unmanaged and/or managed C++) ? etc.
I must admit I'm VERY confused regarding the plans for these two simelar
tools. When XDE is released with full support for managed (and hopefully
unmanaged) C++ (I don't know when though....), I really can't see how Rose
will survive, unless Rational plan that XDE will only support new IDE's
only
(like Microsoft Visual Studio .NET)and only support the PC-platform (not
UNIX as Rose does), and Rose will be the tool to use if you are still using
Microsoft Visual Studio v6.0 etc. Could you please enlighten me on this
issue :-)
