Hi,

I guess u r right; this does not happen with the latest version of 2002.05.20. I apologize for this. I am really very very sorry as I had checked the version on a collegue's PC assuming that the same is installed on my PC.

I tried it with the 2002.05.20 and it does not give any pb.

I apologize once again.

Thanks,
Geeta.

Subject: RE: (ROSE) Sequence Diagram messages not showing properly

Thank you for the reply and the attached screen shot.
While I know it's easy for folks experiencing this problem to see it.  I still have not been
able to duplicate.  I have added many messages between messages, both with and
without corresponding operations and have not yet seen this problem in 2002.05.20.

If I could get an existing model, or if it is easy to recreate, a new model with just
a sequence diagram, and steps it would be much appreciated.  Could be a real
simple step I am overlooking, but at the moment I don't know what that is.

thank you,

Hi,

I faced this problem when I tried inserting a message in between of 2 msgs. that were already created. I would need to insert a msg. incase I missed it.

I am attaching a jpeg file with this mail for your reference. I had created 2 messages of "Create File" and "Delete File". Thereafter I wanted to create message of "Open File" in between of the 2 messages. When I typed the message it was typed at the bottom of the diagram. If I need this message with the respective message line I will have to drag the message.

Thanks,
Geeta.

In order to get to the bottom of this, I would request you send in a model file showing the problem,
along with the name of the diagram, and steps to reproduce. As previously stated, I was aware of
problems like this in earlier versions, but have not seen this in latest release 2002.05.20.  Of course
that doesn't mean there isn't a problem.  But I need to reproduce to get it addressed if this is the
case.

Also did this model start off in current version, or did it start life in earlier release of Rose?
Sometimes older models still show problems from earlier releases in the newer version, since
problem may already be in the model.

You can either reply to this email, or send case to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

What exact version of Rose are you working with?
Sounds like you might be running up against some defects in a earlier release of Rose.
If you don't currently have Rose 2002 release 2 (2002.05.20) I would suggest upgrading.
For upgrades see,

Subject: (ROSE) Sequence Diagram messages not showing properly
Importance: High

Hi All,

I am facing the following 2 issues with respect to Sequence Diagram in Rose:
  • Suppose I have got 2 objects A & B in a Sequence Diagram and I have self-message, normal message and return message under each of them. Now when I try to add one more message in between, I am not able to view the message name while typing it and after typing it, I am able to find it at the extreme bottom. Then I have to drag it to the exact location everytime. Why is it happening like this and how to resolve it?
  • Also the Focus of Control and Lifeline of the diagram are getting unnecessarily longer such that I am not able to go to the end even by scrolling. How to avoid this?
Expecting an early response and thanking in advance,

Regards
Sourabh
