Rose does not include any addins for XML Schema generation. I'm the author of the book you mention, so obviously I have a solution for this! Two solutions actually. 1) get and install the Unisys XMI add-in for Rose (available from Rational). Export your UML model to XMI 1.0 (not 1.1). Then upload the XMI to my Web-based hyperModel tool available at http://XMLmodeling.com, where you can generate XML Schema from your model. There is a link to this tool in the home page, under Announcements. Many people have used this Web-based tool with very successful results. 2) I just released a new product this week, which is an Eclipse IDE plug-in (see www.eclipse.org) that takes any XMI 1.0 model file and generates XML Schema. It supports full customization of XSD generation based on the UML profile in Appendix C of my book. This same Eclipse-based tool also has complete reverse engineering of any XML Schema into UML, produces UML class diagrams as SVG graphics, and exports the resulting model to XMI 1.0 that you can then import into Rose.
