My workaround is to create a base types package and define my
fundamental types as classes within this package.

These will show up in the 'type' field
as 'FundamentalType:Type'.

Unfortunately there are still base types such as 'byte'
and 'double' hanging around which I really have no idea what to
do with in my analysis model.
