Marty,

I have to agree with you almost completely!!  I think the show 
definitely peaked in the middle - in my opinion, as early as Season 
Three.  I think Seasons 3-6 were excellent.  But Roseanne is my 
favorite show, so it's almost impossible for me to pick my favorite 
season.

I still am partial to the earlier seasons too though because it was 
before so many different characters and wacky plot lines were 
introduced.  I liked that Roseanne was still spending a lot of time 
at home, and still figuring out who she was as she jumped from job to 
job.  In the earlier seasons, the show truly was just about the 
family.  I liked the humor between the family members when the kids 
were younger and still growing up.

You're also right that Roseanne just got plain weird after they won 
the lottery.  But I know that I will still buy Season Nine on DVD 
when it comes out just because I love the show - no matter what 
season!
