There is a feature request about the metronome:

I agree with it. Plus, a different note for bar and beat ticks. I like to set  
the tick volumes low, with the (two) sounds of a classical Maelzel metronome.

But there is something more important regarding the metronome. When you set 
the time signature from 4/4 to something else, say 3/4, the metronome remains 
in 4/4, making it unusable. I will file a detailed bug report about it this  
weekend, and try to fix it.
