I'm your huckleberry!

Ardour is a requirement for me. It currently has jack
master capabilities and if the user interface is an
indication it doesn't have slave capabilties yet. I
don't know if the master capabilities are working.

I use an external digital mixer, Tascam DM-24, and use
mmc for transport control/channel fader binding and
mtc for transport syncronization. I'm using a midiman
8x8 with Clemens firmware which is working very
nicely.

I've got a couple hardware sequencer samplers; Korg
Triton and Kurzweil k2000r. MIDI-clock is all the Korg
understands. Not sure about the k2000r it can see mtc
but whether it'll chase I don't know. I'm actually
more interested in the Triton.

Ultimately it would be great to send mmc deferred play
from the DM-24 and instruct Ardour to engage play,
send MTC (which currently works) but then to also have
Rosegarden engage play and send MIDI-clock which is
the only protocol that the Triton understands.

I own a commercial studio, have been using and
contributing user level feedback to Ardour since the
pre-jackd days. As a proof of concept, I recorded a
commercial album produced entirely within Ardour with
the exception of mastering. My studio business partner
was the first midi tech for Prince and The New Power
Generation for two or three world tours. We've been
running our studio since 1984.

Richard, sequencer sync capabilities are vital. I've
got Rosegarden installed and while we're admirers,
it's not useful to us it has sync functionality that
enables us to use it with Ardour and external
hardware. I'm ready to begin your case study work upon
your request. From my perspective, the sooner the
better. :)
