Yes, this should be happening today, from roughly 7.30pm BST (or UTC 1830 if you want to get all Star Trek about it). Please avoid making any CVS commits for a couple of hours after that. The plan is to tag the HEAD just before the merge, with an informal tag like "just_before_mmap_merge"; then merge from the experimental branch, test, commit and tag with "mmap_merged". Or feel free to suggest better names for the tags -- I always have trouble with those. This merge _will_ break things badly in the short term. It's highly unlikely that even basic playback will work immediately afterwards. I certainly don't intend to test that it actually works before I commit it, only that it compiles. I would guess that things will be back in reasonably working order by early next week, but I can't guarantee anything.
