I've been watching Rosegarden development for some time, and one aspect of it I'm particularly interested in is the notation editor. I've fooled around with quite a few pieces of music sequencing and notation software and have become particularly attached to Sibelius. The note entry system Sibelius has is extremely nice, but at the heart it's really notation software, not sequencing software...and because of this many simple sequencing tasks become incredibly tedious to perform (like adjusting the MIDI instrument that corresponds to a particular staff). So I find myself juggling Sibelius with programs like Cakewalk and Cubase, in an attempt to get both easy notation editing as well as easy sequencing.
Needless to say, I'd like to be able to do this all with one piece of software. I know plenty of people use the Cakewalk and Cubase notation editors on a daily basis and are happy with this, but I also know that at least some people find them tedious and difficult to use, too (I fit into this category). From messing around with Rosegarden it seems like the Rosegarden notation editor most closely resembles that of Cubase. Is there any intent to extend on this, or are most people happy with it as is?
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy
