Is there a way to supply to Qt a piece of code that I would like to be
invoked when it's not busy?

In Xt there's a concept known as the work procedure: you can attach any
number of your own callbacks to the event loop, and when the library
realises it's not busy, it'll make a call on one of them to do whatever
background work you have in mind. Of course it's up to you to make
sure your work procedures return rapidly enough not to disturb the
user, and there's no guarantee they'll be called in the first place.

I want a similar thing in Qt. Is there one?

Chris
