Sequencer BUG - Incorrect volume of playback for external MIDI events Re: Rosegarden CVS of 12.12.2003
The sequencer in its default configuration always seems to play the MIDI events it receives from an external MIDI source such as a MIDI keyboard on the soundcard's MIDI interface (assuming it is a MIDI-capable soundcard). However, the volume of the playback behaves very oddly. The volume seems to vary unpredictably when you stop playback and change to recording, or vice-versa, Bizarrely the volume is also extremely quiet, almost inaudible, if you do not have a currently open non-empty segment. Shouldn't the volume remain constant whether you are recording or doing playback of the same piece of music? It would be useful if the notation editor transport section had a very basic master volume control, instead of having to move the mouse to find an external mixer window. Indeed it would be handy if every editor window which has the standard Rosegarden playback interface (Rewind, Forward, Play, Record buttons) had a master volume control. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials.
