It's already logged.  Has been for a long time.

I took it to look at, and spent two whole days poking around with it.  I 
didn't learn anything interesting in the process.  The behavior is obviously 
and most assuredly different in the two cases, but the code isn't (not on the 
surface, anyway), and the debug stream messages aren't.

It's going to take some real work to trace into this and figure out exactly 
what's happening where.  In the sequencer, I *think*, but I really don't have 
the necessary skill to figure this one out.  I'm much better at introducing 
insidious bugs than solving them.  :)
