Yes.  That fixed some clipping to right and bottom edges of texts, but that 
was rather different (for example because it was happening on screen, whereas 
these texts are disappearing on the printed version).

It occurs to me that we could instead just _use_ the font sizes.  The size 
specified by the user can be the one we use when the staff resolution is, 
say, 8 pixels, and at other resolutions we scale appropriately.

So what do you get by default in the notation if you never call up the
