I know we discussed this before, and Rich pointed out that tempo is
meaningless to audio.

Still, it's just absurdly annoying having to go in and edit tempo events to
slow something down, then speed it back up, then slow it down. I want my 1/2
speed and 2X speed buttons dammit. Trying to pick out funky notes at tempo
is a real PITA without them. It would also be convenient because I could
record a 1/2 speed practice version and then a full-speed version for after I
have my chops up, without having to edit a shitload of tempo events by hand.

I understand slowing down the tempo of MIDI would throw any associated audio
segments out of whack, but we give people the power to do other stupid things
too, like putting 27 marks on a single note. If it isn't useful to slow down
the tempo because you have audio segments recorded at the old tempo, then
don't slow down the tempo. Duh. Even that ancient ~'92 Cakewalk I used to
use had some very limited facility for playing .wav files along with MIDI,
and that didn't stop it from having 1/2 speed and 2X tempo buttons, now did
it?

Not having these really sucks.

I just filed a feature request. Nyah. After 1.0 I'm going to strap on my
arguing boots. We need these desperately, dammit!
