How about we :
- wait 2 weeks for 1.0pre1 feedback to arrive (i.e. bug reports)
- fix the most important bugs
- release a pre2
- repeat until no showstoppers left
- release 1.0
- have a party
- create a 1.0 branch
- start 1.1 in HEAD
